In Xu Zhiyuan's “Liang Qichao Five Volumes,” the second volume recounts Liang Qichao's journey to the world. After the failure of the Hundred Days' Reform in 1898, Liang Qichao was forced into exile in Japan, where he unexpectedly rode the wave of globalization and unleashed a vigorous vitality on the broad world stage. During this period, with Yokohama in Japan as his base, Liang Qichao successively founded magazines such as "Qingyi Bao," "Xinmin Cong Bao," and "Xin Xiaoshuo," which triggered the production and dissemination of new knowledge and ideas in the Chinese world, exerting a significant and far-reaching influence. At the same time, he traveled to places such as Hawaii, Australia, and North America, responding to the awakened political consciousness of overseas Chinese and establishing a global network of the Imperial Protection Society.
